Opinion and report of the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) relating to an analysis of the health risks associated with exposure to caterpillars with stinging hairs and the development of management recommendations

open access: yesFood Risk Assess Europe, Volume 3, Issue 2, April 2025.
Abstract Several species of Lepidoptera with caterpillars bearing urticating hairs are increasing their range in metropolitan France from year to year, such as the pine processionary (Thaumetopoea pityocampa Denis et Schiffermüller 1775) whose presence was historically limited to the south of France, and which is gradually being observed in the north ...

Limosilactobacillus reuteri promotes the expression and secretion of enteroendocrine‐ and enterocyte‐derived hormones

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 6, 31 March 2025.
The probiotic Limosilactobacillus reuteri affects the epithelium of the human small intestine by transcriptionally upregulating and promoting the secretion of intestinal hormones. The hormones that L. reuteri regulates include those produced in enteroendocrine cells, like serotonin, GIP, and CCK, and those made in enterocytes, oxytocin, vasopressin ...

The role of physical metallurgical relationships in enhancing alloy properties prediction and design: A case study on Q&P steel

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, Volume 3, Issue 1, March 2025.
This work presents a novel framework that combines physical metallurgical knowledge graphs with graph neural networks and genetic algorithms for dual‐objective optimization. It improves the accuracy of predicting the tensile properties of quench and partitioning steels compared to traditional AI models, and the designed alloys have been shown to be in ...

Locus coeruleus vulnerability to tau hyperphosphorylation in a rat model

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 24, Issue 3, March 2025.
Hyperphosphorylated tau (ptau) leads to calcium overload via LTCC Cav1.2 channels (1), mitochondrial complex I deficit (2), increased mitochondrial fusion (3), which can be associated with reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. Ptau also impedes anterograde transport of distinct cargoes including mitochondria.

Guidelines for preparation and flow cytometry analysis of human nonlymphoid tissue DC

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 55, Issue 1, January 2025.
We here provide detailed protocols for isolating single cell suspension from human nonlymphoid tissues, such as gingiva, lung, intestine, skin, and different tumor tissues as well as tumor‐draining lymph nodes. Further, we provide gating strategies for flow cytometric analysis of human DC subpopulations in diverse nonlymphoid tissues.
