A Dislocation Perspective on Strength and Toughness in Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Dislocations in ceramics enjoy a long but yet under‐appreciated history. The three research waves for dislocations in ceramics highlight the topic evolution over the last 90 years. This review focuses on the impact of dislocation on strength and toughness in ceramics.

Navigation of Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) by using dead reckoning (DR) and global mapping optimization

2008 International Conference on Control, Automation and Systems, 2008
This research proposes a navigation algorithm using multiple GPS units and a differential GPS (DGPS) unit simultaneously, a compass, encoders, and optimized global mapping. GPS systems sometimes lose their signals and receive inaccurate position data due to many factors, such as obstructions.

Fiber-optic gyrocompass performance test and combined dead reckoning (DR) navigation scheme design

2010 2nd International Conference on Signal Processing Systems, 2010
Different test schemes are designed in the paper, which fully aware of the characteristics and important indicators of fiber-optic gyro compass OCTANS. After analysis the towed system working environment, this paper propose the towed system to use part of OCTANS heave compensation outputs for combined DR navigation system[1].
