Precise Localization of Mobile Robots via Odometry and Wireless Sensor Network

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2013
Precise localization of mobile robots in uncertain environments is a fundamental and crucial issue in robotics. In this paper, to deal with the unbounded accumulated errors of dead reckoning (DR)-based localization, wireless sensor network (WSN)-based ...

An In-Vehicle Smartphone RTK/DR Positioning Method Combined with OSM Road Network

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
In vehicle navigation scenarios, the RTK positioning results of smartphones are prone to jumps due to the interference of complex urban environments, and the heading angle of dead reckoning (DR) is prone to divergence.

Study of synthetic aperture radar and automatic identification system for ship target detection

open access: yesJournal of Ocean Engineering and Science, 2019
In the past, the main goals of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) systems were the study of the interaction of electromagnetic waves with the earth surface.

Pedestrian Positioning Using a Double-Stacked Particle Filter in Indoor Wireless Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2019
The indoor pedestrian positioning methods are affected by substantial bias and errors because of the use of cheap microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) devices (e.g., gyroscope and accelerometer) and the users’ movements.

Indoor Pedestrian Localization Using iBeacon and Improved Kalman Filter

open access: yesSensors, 2018
The reliable and accurate indoor pedestrian positioning is one of the biggest challenges for location-based systems and applications. Most pedestrian positioning systems have drift error and large bias due to low-cost inertial sensors and random motions ...

Correntropy Based Divided Difference Filtering for the Positioning of Ships

open access: yesSensors, 2018
In this paper, robust first and second-order divided difference filtering algorithms based on correntropy are proposed, which not only retain the advantages of divided difference filters, but also exhibit robustness in the presence of non-Gaussian noises,

Comparing Dead Reckoning Algorithms for Distributed Car Simulations

open access: yes, 2018
Dead reckoning is an important technique used in distributed virtual environments (DVEs) to mitigate the bandwidth consumption of frequent state updates and the negative effects of network latency.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
