Deadbeat Robust Model Predictive Control: Robustness Without Computing Robust Invariant Sets

ABSTRACTDeadbeat Robust Model Predictive Control (DRMPC) is introduced as a new approach of Robust Model Predictive Control (RMPC) for linear systems with additive disturbances. Its main idea is to completely extinguish the effect of the disturbances in the predictions within a small number of time steps, called the deadbeat horizon.

PiP‐Plex: A Particle‐in‐Particle System for Multiplexed Quantification of Proteins Secreted by Single Cells

Detecting proteins secreted by a single cell while retaining its viability remains challenging. A particles‐in‐particle (PiPs) system made by co‐encapsulating barcoded microparticles (BMPs) with a single cell inside an alginate hydrogel particle is introduced.

Spectral Tuning of Hyperbolic Shear Polaritons in Monoclinic Gallium Oxide via Isotopic Substitution

Spectral tuning of highly directional hyperbolic shear polaritons is realized via isotopic substitution of 16O to 18O in monoclinic β$\beta$‐phase gallium oxide. A red‐shift of almost 40 cm−1 is experimentally demonstrated with near‐field imaging, corroborated by the permittivity change extracted from far‐field experiments and density functional theory.

Ultra‐Improved Interfacial Strength Between Metallic Surface and Polyurethane via Cost‐Effective Anodizing Process
