Synthesis and some pharmacological properties of deamino[4-threonine,8-D-arginine]vasopressin and deamino[8-D-arginine]vasopressin, highly potent and specific antidiuretic peptides, and [8-D-arginine]vasopressin and deamino-arginine-vasopressin

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1976
Deamino[4-threonine,8-D-arginine]vasopressin (dTDAVP), deamino[8-D-arginine]vasopressin (dDAVP), [8-D-arginine[vasopressin (DAVP), and deamino-arginine-vasopressin (dAVP) were synthesized by the solid-phase method and tested for their biological activities.

Deamino-8-D-Arginine Vasopressin Shortens the Bleeding Time in Uremia

New England Journal of Medicine, 1983
In a randomized double-blind cross-over trial we gave either 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin or placebo to 12 patients with uremia, hemorrhagic tendencies, and prolonged bleeding times. After vasopressin infusion, all patients had shortened bleeding times, with the effect lasting for at least four hours in most cases. Platelet count, platelet cyclic

SHORTENING OF BLEEDING TIME BY 1-DEAMINO-8-D-ARGININE VASOPRESSIN IN VARIOUS BLEEDING DISORDERS

Lancet, The, 1984
To evaluate the effect of 1-deamino-8-D-arginine vasopressin (DDAVP) in various bleeding disorders, 10 micrograms/m2 DDAVP was administered to subjects with von Willebrand disease (13), platelet function defects (12), von Willebrand disease and platelet defects together (8), or isolated prolongation of the bleeding time (5).

Treatment of oligohydramnios with maternal 1-deamino-[8-D-arginine] vasopressin–induced plasma hypoosmolality

American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1996
Maternal 1-deamino-[8-D-arginine] vasopressin (a selective antidiuretic agonist) and oral water loading decrease maternal and fetal plasma osmolality and markedly increase fetal urine flow in sheep. We hypothesized that a titrated reduction in maternal plasma osmolality would increase human amniotic fluid volume.Pregnant women (n = 5) with ...

Effects of vasopressin and its deamino-d-arginine analogue on renin release in the isolated perfused rat kidney

Pflugers Archiv European Journal of Physiology, 1978
The direct action of arginine-vasopressin (AVP) and its deamino-D-arginine analogue (DDAVP) on renin release (RR) has been studied in isolated rat kidneys perfused with an electrolyte solution at constant pressure in a single-pass system. AVP and DDAVP infused at various concentrations (80 to 2100 pg/ml and 80 to 8700 pg/ml, respectively) reduced ...

Vasopressin and 1-deamino-8-d-arginine-vasopressin (DDAVP) reduce elevated plasma catecholamine levels in rats with hypothalamic deafferentation

Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology, 1988
1. Anterolateral cut (ALC) of the medial basal hypothalamus (MBH) in rats produces an elevation of plasma catecholamine levels, especially of norepinephrine (NE), in unstressed animals and a more pronounced rise of plasma NE levels in response to immobilization (IMO).
