Study of the Debinding Rate on MIM Parts Using Plasma Assisted Debinding
Materials Science Forum, 2008Binders based on mixtures of polymers and waxes are suitable both for solvent combined with thermal extraction, as well as for pure thermal debinding. The recently developed plasma-assisted debinding and sintering (PADS) process has been targeted, for historical reasons, on a wax-polymer system, appropriated for solvent combined with thermal extraction

Numerical analysis of debinding and sintering of MIM parts
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2007Abstract The aim of the present work is to investigate the reliability of numerical simulations for the prediction of the shrinkage of a metal injected molded component. The numerical analyses, performed on a 3D component, allow the numerical predictions to be compared with experimental results of debinding and sintering steps.

Supercritical Debinding of Injection Molded Ceramics
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1995Extraction of organic additives from extrusion‐molded cylinders of alumina by a supercritical fluid is investigated. Hildebrand parameters alone are not adequate to predict conditions for optimal polymer extraction with supercritical CO 2 . The results obtained with

Effects of processing history on thermal debinding
Journal of Materials Science, 2000Thermal debinding behavior of silicon nitride parts processed via fused deposition of ceramics (FDC) and extrusion was studied. Heating rate, holding time, setter bed chemistry were some of the variables that were studied to understand their effect on green ceramic parts.

Thermal debinding of injection moulded ceramics
Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 1997Abstract Special equipment for thermal removal of binder under controlled pressure conditions and with controlled gas flow rate was built to study the debinding process of injection moulded parts. The equipment was designed to record changes in the weight of injection mouldings, and an operating system made it possible to control their weight loss by

Thermal Debinding of Ceramic-Filled Photopolymers
Materials Science Forum, 2015Within the large variety of different additive manufacturing technologies stereolithography excels in high precision and surface quality. Using the Digital Light Processing (DLP) Technology a stereolithography-based system was developed, which is specifically designed for the processing of highly filled photopolymers. The powder-filled suspension ...

Numerical and experimental investigation of thermal debinding
Powder Metallurgy, 2002AbstractNumerical simulation and experimental verification were carried out on polymer removal from a PIM compact by thermal debinding. An integrated model, considering the interactive effects of various mechanisms, is proposed. It avoided the necessity of making the unrealistic assumption of a receding liquid/gas interface front, which is commonly ...
