Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Echinoderm‐Inspired Autonomy for Soft‐Legged Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Inspired by echinoderms, a modular soft robot achieves autonomous phototaxis without a central controller or explicit communication. Each limb independently adapts its actuation timing through local sensing and short‐term memory. Coordination emerges purely from physical interactions, demonstrating resilience to changes in morphology, environment, and ...

Decentralized Thermal Control of Buildings

open access: yesCoRR, 2021
Energy requirements for heating and cooling of buildings constitute a major fraction of end use energy consumed. Therefore, it is important to provide the occupant comfort requirements in buildings in an energy efficient manner. However, buildings are large scale complex systems, susceptible to sensor, actuator or communication network failures in ...

Anticipating and Coordinating Voltage Control for Interconnected Power Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper deals with the application of an anticipating and coordinating feedback control scheme in order to mitigate the long-term voltage instability of multi-area power systems. Each local area is uniquely controlled by a control agent (CA) selecting

Intelligent Sky Guardians (InSkyGuard): An Aerial Robotic Swarm for Autonomous Detection and Entrapment of Rogue Multirotors

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Intelligent Sky Guardians (InSkyGuard) is introduced as a four‐drone swarm that autonomously detects, tracks, and safely captures rogue drones using a coordinated net system. Computer vision and leader–follower control architecture enable synchronized enclosure, while integrated failsafes enhance system reliability. Validated through closed‐environment
