Immune Deviation in the Decidua During Term and Preterm Labor
The maternal-fetal immune disorder is considered to be an important factor of preterm birth (PTB); however, the underlying mechanism is still not fully understood.

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) contribute to the induction of an immune suppressive/anergic, tumor permissive environment. MDSCs act as immunosuppression orchestrators also by interacting with several components of both innate and adaptive ...

Hyperglycemia during pregnancy impairs the fusion of trophoblast cells into syncytiotrophoblasts, leading to fetal growth restriction. This impaired fusion is mediated by Tim1 downregulation via hyperglycemia‐induced ROS. Antioxidant therapy during pregnancy promotes syncytiotrophoblast formation by upregulating Tim1 expression, thus alleviating fetal ...

Inflammation in gestational tissues plays critical role in parturition initiation. We sought to investigate the leukocyte infiltration and cytokine profile in uterine tissues to understand the inflammation during term and preterm labor in the mouse model.

Decoding Human Placental Cellular and Molecular Responses to Obesity and Fetal Growth
Women with obesity often deliver large‐for‐gestational‐age (LGA) infants. Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing of term placenta reveals that hypoxia and TNF‐α signaling in syncytiotrophoblasts are featured in maternal obesity, but inflammatory signatures in Hofbauer cells and response to lipid or carbohydrate metabolism in fibroblasts are specific to LGA.

Expression of Estrogen Receptor α by Decidual Macrophages in Preeclampsia
Preeclampsia is a gestation-associated hypertensive syndrome that threatens the life and health of the mother and the child. The condition is presumably caused by systemic failure with a strong involvement of innate immunity.

The interaction between trophoblasts and decidual polymorphonuclear myeloid‐derived suppressor cells (dPMN‐MDSCs) via the XCL1–XCR1 axis is crucial for fetal development during the third trimester. Disruption of this axis impairs FOXO1 activity and causes metabolic imbalance in dPMN‐MDSCs, contributing to adverse outcomes associated with advanced ...

Deciphering decidual leukocyte traffic with serial intravascular staining
The decidual immunome is dynamic, dramatically changing its composition across gestation. Early pregnancy is dominated by decidual NK cells, with a shift towards T cells later in pregnancy.

In trophoblast cells, T/S (TNFα + SM164) activated caspase‐3, which cleaved GSDME to switch apoptosis to pyroptosis, causing cell swelling, membrane rupture, and release of LDH, HMGB1, IL‐1β and IL‐18. These cytokines induced pro‐inflammatory macrophage polarization, which in turn reinforced pyroptotic signaling in trophoblasts, amplifying systemic ...
