Symbols of Climate Action: Audit Labor and the Production of Carbon Credits

open access: yesEconomic Anthropology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Voluntary carbon markets (VCMs) are promoted as tools for financing climate mitigation, yet their effectiveness and credibility remain contested. This article examines how carbon credits are produced and destabilized as symbols of climate action, emphasizing the forms of ecological and audit labor that sustain their legitimacy.

Putting a price on mission: Social responsibility orientation and startup employment

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Social responsibility‐oriented (SRO) employers are widely understood to enjoy advantages in recruitment and hiring, yet most evidence comes from temporary or hypothetical employment contexts. We test for such advantages using microdata on a structured recruitment process in which startups hired full‐time employees.

Perovskite‐Based Catalysts for the Oxygen Evolution Reaction: Synthesis, Device Relevant Performance, and Scale‐Up Strategies

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Perovskites are emerging as catalysts for acidic oxygen evolution in proton exchange membrane water electrolyzers. This manuscript focuses on catalyst behavior under device‐relevant conditions, highlighting surface reconstruction, elemental utilization, and membrane electrode assembly performance. By linking materials design with electrolyzer operation,

Covalent Organic Framework Electrolytes for Solid‐State Lithium Batteries: Designing Ion Highways for Next‐Generation Energy Storage

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Covalent organic frameworks provide a structurally programmable platform for solid‐state lithium batteries. This review outlines a design framework linking structural descriptors to ion‐transport metrics. It examines mechanisms of confinement, channel architecture, and hybrid designs, addressing the reasons for the occasional failure of high intrinsic ...

Photo‐Switched Catalytic Amyloids

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Photo‐switched reversible hierarchical assembly of catalytic amyloid fibrils is accomplished by mixing an amphiphilic cross‐ß peptide with a merocyanine photo switch. The peptide monomers, comprising phenylalanine‐lysine repeats, do not self‐assemble in water because of the electrostatic repulsion.
