Delay-exponent of decode-forward streaming
We propose a decode-forward protocol for streaming over a relay network using sequential random tree codes. An achievable bound on the end-to-end error performance is derived. The bound is parameterised by the number of errors occuring at the relay, which is the sum of correlated Bernoulli processes.

Decode-and-forward cooperation as the distributed encoding and decoding
2010 7th International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems, 2010The decode-and-forward relaying is studied as two problems of the distributed encoding and decoding. Specifically, in the first problem, the source and the relay employ the same channel encoding, and the objective is to find how to distribute the decoding complexity between the relay and the destination.

Distributed decode-forward for multicast
2014 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2014A new coding scheme for multicasting a mes- sage over a general relay network is presented that extends both network coding for graphical networks by Ahlswede, Cai, Li, and Yeung, and partial decode-forward for relay channels by Cover and El Gamal.

Distributed Decode and Forward Beamforming
37th Annual IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks, 2012Distributed transmit beamforming is a wireless communication technique in which multiple independent antennas transmit a common message while controlling their transmitted carrier phases to constructively interfere the message at a destination. Depending on the transmission goals and choice of network parameters, certain noteworthy benefits arise from ...

Distributed decode-forward for broadcast
2014 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW 2014), 2014A new coding scheme for broadcasting multi- ple messages over a general relay network is presented. The proposed distributed decode-forward scheme com- bines Marton coding for single-hop broadcast channels and partial decode-forward for relay channels by Cover and El Gamal.

An Iterative Unified Decoding for Decode-Quantize-Forward Relaying
2013 IEEE 77th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2013This paper proposes a design strategy for decode- quantize-forward (DQF) relaying in which two relay nodes parallelly forward quantized a-posteriori loglikelihood ratio (LLR) after channel decoding. A primary focus is on cross correlation among quantized bits.

A decoding procedure for compress-and-forward and quantize-and-forward relaying
2012 50th Annual Allerton Conference on Communication, Control, and Computing (Allerton), 2012In this paper, a decoding procedure is developed for both the compress-and-forward (CF) and the short message quantize-and-forward (QF-SM) relaying schemes. This procedure is based on exploiting a common feature of the mapping used by both schemes to determine the relay output from the estimate of its input.

Dynamic Decode and Forward with Network Coding
2012 IEEE 75th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Spring), 2012This paper is divided into two parts. In the first part, we analyze outage probability of dynamic decode and forward (DDF) with network coding (NC) and compare outage probability with using NC and without using NC. In the second part, we use MATLAB programming language to simulate our system model.

Combining forward and backward search in decoding
2013 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing, 2013We introduce a speed-up for weighted finite state transducer (WFST) based decoders, which is based on the idea that one decoding pass using a wider beam can be replaced by two decoding passes with smaller beams, decoding forward and backward in time. We apply this in a decoder that works with a variable beam width, which is widened in areas where the ...

A New Incomplete Decode-and-Forward Protocol
2008 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2008In this work, we explore the introduction of distributed space-time codes in decode-and-forward (DF) protocols. We propose a new Incomplete DF protocol, based on a partial decoding at the relays. This strategy allows the new protocol to bring both full diversity and full symbol rate.
