Age and Energy Tradeoff for Short Packet Based Two-Hop Decode-and-Forward Relaying Networks
IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2021Real-time and energy-efficient transmissions are two critical demands for status update systems, however it is difficult to meet these requirements simultaneously.

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2020
In this paper, we propose and analyze an opportunistic ambient backscatter (AmBack)-assisted decode-and-forward (DF) (i.e., ODF-AmBack) relaying scheme, where the relay can not only forward the signal from the source as in the traditional DF scheme but ...

Distributed Decode and Forward Beamforming
37th Annual IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks, 2012Distributed transmit beamforming is a wireless communication technique in which multiple independent antennas transmit a common message while controlling their transmitted carrier phases to constructively interfere the message at a destination. Depending on the transmission goals and choice of network parameters, certain noteworthy benefits arise from ...

Optimal Path Construction with Decode and Forward Relays in mmWave Backhaul Networks
International Conference on Computing, Networking and Communications, 2020In this paper, we consider the problem of constructing paths using decode and forward (DF) relays for millimeter wave (mmWave) backhaul communications in urban environments.

Cooperative Fading Regions for Decode and Forward Relaying
IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2008Cooperative transmission protocols over fading channels are based on a number of relaying nodes to form virtual multi-antenna transmissions. Diversity provided by these techniques has been widely analyzed for the Rayleigh fading case. However, short range or fixed wireless communications often experience propagation environments where the fading ...

A Stacked-Autoencoder Based End-to-End Learning Framework for Decode-and-Forward Relay Networks
IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2020In this work, we study an end-to-end deep learning (DL)based constellation design for decode-and-forward (DF) relay network. Firstly, we study both the one-way (OW) and two-way (TW) relaying by interpreting DF relay networks as stacked autoencoders ...

Mixed FSO/RF SIMO SWIPT Decode-and-Forward Relaying Systems
International Conference on Signal Processing and Communications, 2020This article focuses on a dual-hop simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) single-input-multiple-output (SIMO) system having one free-space optical (FSO) link followed by one radio frequency (RF) link.

ML Decoder for Decode-and-Forward Based Cooperative Communication System
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2011Decode-and-forward (DF) protocol based cooperative communication is vulnerable to the erroneous relaying by the relay. In this paper, we derive a maximum-likelihood (ML) decoder for the DF protocol utilizing arbitrary complex-valued constellations including M-PSK, M-PAM, and M-QAM.

ML decoding in decode-and-forward based cooperative communication system
2011 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2011In this paper, we derive a maximum-likelihood (ML) decoder of the decode-and-forward (DF) protocol utilizing an arbitrary complex-valued M-point constellation. Existing decoders of the DF based cooperative systems are applicable only to real-valued constellations like BPSK and M-PAM, hence, also to square M2-QAM.
