Modelling Policies for Multifunctional Agriculture and Rural Development in a Remote EU Region (Caithness & Sutherland, Scotland, UK)

open access: yes
A modified version of a system dynamics model constructed for an EU-wide case-study project (TOPMARD) using STELLA software was used to simulate the effects of a number of development scenarios for a remote rural area in Northern Scotland, i.e. Caithness

Integrating Occupational Health and Safety Into the Artificial Intelligence System Life Cycle

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Industrial Medicine, Volume 69, Issue 7, Page 491-502, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence (AI) systems are rapidly transforming the workplace, performing tasks once limited to human intelligence such as decision‐making, prediction, and pattern recognition. While AI adoption offers opportunities to improve productivity, it can also create new occupational hazards and alter working conditions in ways that may ...

Digitized Stratigraphic and Geophysical Logs From Deep Boreholes in the 2022 Mw 5.5 Fano‐Pesaro Earthquake Region, Adriatic Sea, Italy

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, Volume 13, Issue 3, July 2026.
Legacy borehole documentation from seven deep exploration wells in the Pesaro–Fano offshore area (Adriatic Sea) was digitized into an accessible dataset of stratigraphic and geophysical data. The dataset is openly available in the Zenodo repository and supports future geological and geophysical studies in the Adriatic region and beyond.

The HALO Model: A Learning Health System Framework for Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesLearning Health Systems, Volume 10, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Artificial intelligence is increasingly embedded in healthcare delivery, yet existing Learning Health System (LHS) models do not fully account for the lifecycle management and continuous assurance requirements of AI systems. This gap limits health systems' ability to safely and sustainably integrate AI as a learning component of ...

Greenhouse Gas Reduction Potential Through Bioheat for Remote Communities in Northeastern Ontario

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 7, July 2026.
Heating infrastructure in remote areas has high potential for fuel switching, possibly leading to decreased greenhouse gas emissions. Using a simplified life cycle analysis approach, we show that woody residues from the forest industry have the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to commonly used fossil fuels.

A New Hybrid Approach Applying Feature Engineering to Model High Resolution Air Temperature Across Israel

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 8, 30 June 2026.
A hybrid modelling framework that applies feature engineering using the KNN model to estimate high‐resolution air temperature across Israel by integrating meteorological and environmental predictors. ABSTRACT The increasing global planetary temperature, combined with rapid urbanisation, underscores the urgent need to evaluate human exposure to air ...
