STRUCTURAL CAPACITY OF NSM STEEL BARS STRENGTHENED DEEP BEAMS UNDER COMBINED LOADS OF REPEATED AND ELEVATED TEMPERATURE

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Sustainable Development, 2021
The current experimental investigation is devoted to study the structural capacity of near-surface mounted steel bars strengthened deep beams. Six reinforced SCC deep beam specimens with a dimension of 1400mm x175mm x350mm were tested under Combined ...

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Prognosis of Dynamic Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Deep Beams of Very High Strength Materials [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Civil Engineering, 2020
An analysis of the dynamic load - carrying capacity of rectangular reinforced concrete deep beam considering the physical nonlinearities of structural materials: concrete and reinforcing steel, is the aim of the paper.

A novel two‐beam accelerator (twobetron) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
A new configuration is analyzed wherein a low current beam is accelerated to high energies (10’s of amps, 10’s of MeV) by a driver beam of high current and low energy (a few kiloamps,

Partial depletion of plasminogen activator inhibitor‐1 decreases subcutaneous fat cell hypertrophy and liver cholesterol in high‐fat‐fed female mice

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Behavior of self-compacted reinforced concrete deep beams using steel plates as shear reinforcement

open access: yesPrzegląd Naukowy Inżynieria i Kształtowanie Środowiska
This research studies the structural behavior of self-compacted reinforced concrete deep beams by using steel plates as an alternative to traditional shear reinforcement.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Feasibility Study on the Effect of FRP Shear Reinforcements on the Behaviour of FRP-Reinforced Concrete Deep Beams

open access: yesCivilEng, 2023
Unlike steel reinforcements in concrete, Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) materials are light and free from corrosion. Therefore, FRP materials are increasingly being used in structural engineering as a replacement for steel reinforcements.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Melt Pool and Keyhole Behavior Analysis for Deep Penetration Laser Welding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
One usually defines the main characteristic of the welding performances of a given laser system by its “penetration curve” that corresponds to the welding depth as a function of the welding speed Vw for a given set of operating parameters.
