Presynaptic Congenital Myasthenic Syndromes

open access: yesMuscle &Nerve, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Presynaptic congenital myasthenic syndromes (CMS) encompass a large number of rare neurologic disorders caused by impaired release of acetylcholine (ACh) from motor nerve terminals. There are two main groups of presynaptic CMS: one in which the amount of ACh in synaptic vesicles (SV) is diminished and another in which the mechanism of synaptic

A Review of Advances in Composite Materials, Structural Optimization, and Machine Learning for Wind Turbine Blades: Challenges and Future Perspectives

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Overview of the holistic engineering lifecycle and core research pillars for wind turbine blades. ABSTRACT This paper reviews recent advancements across the lifecycle of wind turbine blades, focusing on three interconnected areas: advanced composites, structural optimization, and machine learning (ML) diagnostics. In materials, we highlight progress in

Impact of Waste‐Derived Slate Dust on Structural, Thermal, and Thermomechanical Behavior of Recycled Poly(Ethylene Terephthalate)

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
This study investigates the use of waste slate dust as a filler in recycled PET. Incorporating up to 20 wt% slate dust caused no filler‐induced molecular degradation, increased the crystallization temperature, thermal conductivity, and storage modulus. ABSTRACT Recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) is widely considered a sustainable alternative to

The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1697-1716, April 2025.
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.

Transcriptome Inference and Systematic Approaches to Investigate TCM Compounds With Beneficial Metabolic Effects

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Obesity is a major risk factor for type 2 diabetes. Some traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compounds can improve obesity by increasing energy consumption. This study aimed to identify and verify TCM compounds that promote adipose thermogenesis to alleviate obesity via transcriptomic analysis, molecular docking, network pharmacology, and ...

Towards improving Arctic mixed‐phase cloud representation in the ECMWF model using MOSAiC observations

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Abstract The presence of Arctic clouds plays a crucial role in the evolution of the surface temperature of Arctic sea ice. However, large biases in cloud representation remain in state‐of‐the‐art weather and climate models. In this study, we use observational data from the one‐year Arctic ship campaign Multi‐disciplinary drifting Observatory for the ...

Modulation of turbulence and mesoscale structure in nested large‐eddy simulations with a gray‐zone parent domain

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
The cell perturbation (CP) method mitigate mesoscale structural perturbations entering large‐eddy simulations (LES) from gray‐zone parent domains. The turbulent kinetic energy (TKE) bias‐filtering effect of CP increases with nesting ratio and is most pronounced under weakly convective conditions.
