Equivalent drawbead performance in deep drawing simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Drawbeads are applied in the deep drawing process to improve the control of the material flow\ud during the forming operation. In simulations of the deep drawing process these drawbeads can be replaced by\ud an equivalent drawbead model.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

FEM SIMULATION OF DEEP DRAWING PROCESS OF ALUMINIUM ALLOYS [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Computer Science, 2015
This paper presents results of research with FEM simulation of sheet metal forming process. The two types of aluminium alloys from 5XXX and 6XXX series, which are used in automotive industry, were compared.

Springback optimization in automotive Shock Absorber Cup with Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesManufacturing Review, 2018
Drawing or forming is a process normally used to achieve a required component form from a metal blank by applying a punch which radially draws the blank into the die by a mechanical or hydraulic action or combining both.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Optimization of Segmented Blank Holder Shape and Its Variable Blank Holder Gap in Deep-Drawing Process

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2012
Optimum segmented blank holder shape and its variable blank holder gaps (VBHGs) are determined by a sequential approximate optimization (SAO) with radial basis function network. In deep drawing, wrinkling and tearing of blank sheet are major defects. The

Pressure Lubricated Deep Drawing

open access: yesBulletin of JSME, 1961
In this paper, a method promoting a fluid lubrication in the deep drawing of sheet metals is introduced. Possibilities of this method are proved by laboratory scale experiments on aluminium and reported. It is shown that the process brought about many encouraging results for the improvement of the drawing ratio.

Experimental Study and Analysis of the Influence of Drawbead against Restriction and Deep Drawing Force of Rectangular Cup-Cans with Tin Plate Material [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Drawbead are often used to control the flow of material, stress and deep drawing force in the flange area. This paper discussed the drawbead (fully, not fully and without drawbead) that combined with variations in the blank holder force against ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Ear height control by die radius shape in cylindrical deep drawing [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
This study presents the relationship between die radius shape and anisotropy that suppresses ear height in cylindrical deep drawing. In deep drawing, the cup is formed with irregularities on the edge, called “earing”, due to the anisotropy of sheet ...
