Manufacturing problems such as heat treatment‐induced cracking hinder the widespread application of the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process to superalloys. In this study, cracks in the LPBF components of Inconel 738LC superalloy are characterized after heat treatment at various temperature ranges, revealing two distinct cracking behaviors.

Bifurcations of Deep Hole Drilling Process
Abstract Modern control of the cutting process can only be based on the thorough study of the dynamics of the technological system that allows revealing different mechanisms of the processes occurring in the cutting zone. The article shows the bifurcations inherent in the process of deep drilling that allows explaining a number of phenomena that ...

Different Al/Al bimetals with a single engineered interface reveal how mechanical mismatch governs fatigue crack growth under cyclic loading. Additionally, loading–unloading–reloading tests link the microyielding behavior to the fatigue crack growth resistance, while crack‐path analysis reveals toughening mechanisms at the interface, highlighting ...

Application of mouth section hole forming technique for directional drilling in Yangquan Mining Area
In the construction of long borehole in coal mine, the construction of the start of directional drilling is not paid enough attention. Especially for the installation of the ultra-deep casing(≥100 m), the casing is often not in place due to the hole ...

Direct channel implantation of B and BF2 ions was employed to fabricate amorphous IGZO TFTs with improved electrical and stability properties. B and BF2 implantation modulate oxygen vacancies within the IGZO channel. The field‐effect mobility of ion‐implanted IGZO TFTs was enhanced as compared to pristine IGZO TFTs.
