Tool Wear Mechanism and Experimental Study on Deep Hole Gun Drilling of 304 Stainless Steel
Deep hole gun drilling is in a closed and semi-closed state, and the machining process is complex. The unstable drilling force, severe tool wear, and poor processing quality have always been difficulties in deep hole gun drilling. 304 stainless steel has

Investigation of chip jamming in deep-hole drilling
In this paper, we show the recent progress and first insights in modeling chip jamming in the deep-hole drilling process. Chip jamming is a significant problem when chips wrap around the tool, leading to marks on the borehole wall and an increased drilling torque causing sudden tool failure.

A giant insulator to metal transition and emergent superparamagnetism are revealed by nanoparticle exsolution in non‐stoichiometric titanate perovskite thin films. By combining transport, synchrotron spectroscopy, and first‐principles calculations, this work reveals how defect reconfiguration and lattice reconstruction fundamentally reshape electronic ...

Spiralling in BTA Deep-hole Drilling: Models of Varying Frequencies [PDF]
One serious problem in deep-hole drilling is the formation of a dynamic disturbance called spiralling which causes holes with several lobes. Since such lobes are a severe impairment of the bore hole the formation of spiralling has to be prevented. Gessesse et al.
