Application of exosomes derived from human umbilical cord stem cells in the treatment of ovalbumin-induced allergic asthma in mice

open access: yesLaboratory Animal Research
Background This study investigated the therapeutic potential of exosomes derived from human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (hUCMSCs-exos) in an Ovalbumin (OVA) -induced mouse model of allergic asthma, comparing their efficacy to budesonide, a ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Defect-tolerant N2-transistor structure for reliable nanoelectronic designs

open access: yes, 2009
Nanodevices based circuit design will be based on the acceptance that a high percentage of devices in the design will be defective. In this work, we investigate a defect tolerant technique that adds redundancy at the transistor level and provides built ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Convergence behaviour of defect correction for hyperbolic equations

open access: yes, 1993
In this note we present results about the convergence rate of a defect correction process for the solution of second-order accurate convection problems. The operator to be inverted is a stable, first-order accurate discretisation.

Defect-State Transition Associated Hole Dynamics in Cuprous Iodide Nanosheets

open access: yes, 2022
The cuprous iodide of zinc-blende structure (γ-CuI) is a p-type semiconductor with a wide band gap of 3.1 eV. It is considered promising as the third generation of semiconductors, in applications of hole transport layer and transparent electrode due to ...

Preparation of reduced graphene oxide supported palladium nanocomposites for amperometric sensing of NADH

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2020
Reduced graphene oxide-supported palladium nanocomposites (Pd-rGO) were synthesized by an in situ chemical reduction method. The composite nanomaterials have excellent conductivity and catalytic ability due to the synergistic effect of the two components.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified
