DEFECT METASTABILITY IN HYDROGEN PASSIVATED POLYCRYSTALLINE SILICON

Modern Physics Letters B, 1994
A comprehensive review is presented for the defect passivation and the light-induced metastability in fine grain polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si). The passivation kinetics of grain boundary defects were examined by electron spin resonance and secondary ion mass spectrometry measurements.

Cathodoluminescence Spectroscopy For Evaluation Of Defect Passivation In GaSb

MRS Proceedings, 1995
AbstractCathodoluminescence (CL) technique has been employed to study the optical properties of GaSb after deposition of hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H). CL images recorded at various depths in the samples clearly show passivation of extended defects on the surface as well as in the bulk region.

The growth kinetics of passive films and the role of defects

Corrosion Science, 1989
Abstract The mass transport through the passive film which is necessary for film growth may occur either by a cation- or an anion-vacancy (or the corresponding interstitial) mechanism; thus the currents depend on the defect concentration. If it is assumed that vacancies are produced at the metal/oxide or at the oxide/electrolyte interface, the ...
