Investigation of Compact Low Pass Filter with Sharp Cut–Off using Metamaterial [PDF]
In this paper a new compact microstrip Bessel low pass filter (LPF) is experimentally validated using complementary split ring resonator (CSRR) which has sharper cut-off and improved spurious band suppression characteristics. The Richard’s transformation

Filter Designs Based on Defected Ground Structures
This chapter concentrates on the filter structures using Defected Ground Structures (DGS). Initially, this chapter discusses the limitations of Electromagnetic Band Gap (EBG) structures and the development of DGS structure from EBG structure. DGS is an area of increasing interest in EBG technology.

High Q defected ground structures in grounded coplanar waveguide
The correlation between the placement of spiral defected ground structures in each ground plane of a grounded coplanar waveguide and the corresponding frequency response are investigated. S-parameters and current density plots from an EM-based simulation study are examined to understand this relationship.

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Ab-initio study of oxygen vacancies in alpha-quartz
Extrinsic levels, formation energies, and relaxation geometries are calculated ab initio for oxygen vacancies in alpha-quartz SiO2. The vacancy is found to be thermodynamically stable in the charge states Q=+3, Q=0, Q=--2, and Q=-3.

The aim of the study is to practically implement the Defected Ground Structure (DGS) based microstrip bandpass filter in an energy harvester circuit. DGS is widely used to bring about an enhancement in the characteristics of microwave circuits. The study of DGS is derived from the concept of Photonic/electromagnetic Band Gap (PBG) structures but it is ...

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.
