ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Polarization Reconfigurable Reflecting Surface based on Grid Defected Ground Structures
In this article, a reconfigurable surface in reflecting mode is proposed to achieve linearly polarized (LP) conversion. Based on grid defected ground structures, a PIN diode is utilized as the an RF switch to provide the reconfigurability. The surface is

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

A newly proposed multi-band rectangular patch antenna using defected ground structures
A new microstrip patch antenna that resonates on more than one frequencies and yields sufficiently high bandwidth is presented. Several variations of the proposed design are simulated using practically used dielectric materials.

Analysis of DGS filters using π‐circuit model
The design and analysis of two defected ground structures (DGS)‐based filters have been proposed in this article. The first is a multifrequency bandstop filter (BSF) which utilizes a semi‐H defect in the ground plane. This structure is then prototyped on

Compact defected ground structure in microstrip technology
A meander microstrip line with defected ground structure is proposed. Its radiation loss and slow-wave effect are evaluated. The compact configuration presents broad stopband and improved slow-wave characteristics. A good agreement between simulation and measurement verifies the designed circuit.

Sertraline Treatment Can Mimic Niemann‐Pick Type C Biomarker Profile: A Diagnostic Pitfall
ABSTRACT Background Oxysterols (cholestane‐3β,5α,6β‐triol and 7‐ketocholesterol) and N‐palmitoyl‐O‐phosphocholineserine (PPCS) are sensitive biomarkers for Niemann‐Pick disease type C (NPC) screening. However, false‐positive results occur, with a biomarker profile suggestive of NPC despite the absence of pathogenic variants in genes involved in NPC or ...
