Cross‐Polarisation Suppression in Self‐Diplexing Antennas

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation
An approach to improve cross‐polarisation (XP) radiation in probe‐fed microstrip antennas is presented in this letter. The notable XP associated with self‐diplexing antennas caused by radiator multiplexing is discussed for the first time.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Quasi-Static Analysis of Defected Ground Structure

open access: yesTENCON 2005 - 2005 IEEE Region 10 Conference, 2005
A quasi-static equivalent circuit model of a dumbbell shaped defected ground structure (DGS) is developed. The equivalent circuit model is derived from the equivalent inductance and capacitance developed due to the perturbed returned current path on the ground and the narrow gap, respectively.

Emerging insights into CC and CXC chemokines and their receptors in Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dual roles of CC and CXC chemokines in distinguishing active, latent, and subclinical tuberculosis were reviewed, along with an evaluation of their potential as diagnostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets to advance precision medicine in tuberculosis management. The graphical abstract was generated with AI assistance (Gemini 3.0).

Guiding AlphaFold to predict how Munc13‐1 opens Syntaxin‐1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The syntaxin‐1 Habc‐domain (orange), linker (pink) and SNARE motif (yellow) form a closed conformation that binds to Munc18‐1 (violet) and is opened by the Munc13‐1 MUN domain (cyan) to form the SNARE complex that triggers neurotransmitter release.
