EVIDENCE FOR EXCHANGE DEGENERACY REANALYZED
We present a detailed analysis of Kp and pp total cross sections with a view to investigating the validity of strong exchange degeneracy which has recently been questioned. Kp CEX data is used to extract the ρ -A2 exchange.

Covalent Functionalization of 2D Semiconductors: A Roadmap to Advanced Electronic Devices
This Review presents recent advances in the covalent functionalization strategies for two‐dimensional semiconductors and their implementation in modern technologies. Layered materials are modified through diverse molecular chemistries (e.g., thiols, diazonium salts, alkyl halides, and electron‐deficient species) to tailor their surface properties ...

Exaptation, Degeneracy and Innovation
In innovation processes, exaptations are innovation-development processes through which an initial attribution of new functionality to existing artifacts leads to new artifacts and eventually new markets.

Amphoteric Cu‐Doping Leading to High Thermoelectric Performance in p‐Type Bismuth Antimony Telluride
This study shows that Cu plays two opposite roles in p‐type Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3 depending on the processing route. Under thermodynamic‐equilibrium bulk‐synthesis, Cu mainly occupies cation sites, increases hole concentration, preserves mobility, and slightly reduces lattice heat transport. The best‐performing composition among the investigated series reaches

Bioinspired Hydrogels with Broadly Programmable Mechanics for Soft‐Tissue Interfaces
Sea cucumber‐inspired gelatin hydrogels are formed by directional freezing and mechanically programmed through subsequent ionic treatment. Multiscale characterization and modeling link ion‐regulated chain interactions to directional load transfer within the aligned hierarchical architecture.

A lead‐free tin‐based hybrid perovskite is designed in which stereochemically active lone‐pair electrons on tin distort the crystal lattice and break its symmetry. Blended into a flexible polymer, the material converts pressure into electricity at milliwatt‐scale power density and continues working far below freezing, powering a commercial wristwatch ...

Critical Coupling in Semi‐Trasparent Fano Resonators for Photothermal Converters
An ultrathin metal–insulator multilayer architecture is engineered to exploit Fano‐resonant critical coupling, completely suppressing optical reflectance while achieving a balanced 50:50 trade‐off between absorbance and transmittance. Upon laser excitation at resonance, the metamaterial generates intense localized heat (ΔT≈550∘C$\Delta T {\approx }550^\

Dirac Semimetallicity Enabled by Stripe Antiferromagnetism in Monolayer FeSe
In monolayer FeSe, stripe antiferromagnetic order selectively breaks mirror symmetry, enabling odd inter‐orbital hybridization between opposite‐parity Fe 3d states. This mechanism stabilizes symmetry‐protected Dirac nodes with nontrivial Wilson‐loop topology and edge states, accompanied by a strong orbital diamagnetic susceptibility as an experimental ...

Degeneracy in Heteroscedastic Regression Models
The maximum likelihood estimation in a regression model with heteroscedastic errors is considered. When the design matrices in the model are inappropriately specified, the maximum likelihood estimates of the variances of certain observations are found to

Degeneracy in One-Dimensional Quantum Mechanics: A Case Study
: In this work we study the isotonic oscillator, V(x) = Ax 2 + Bx −2 , on the whole line −∞ < x < +∞ as an example of a one-dimensional quantum system with energy level degeneracy.
