Exact solution of spherical mean-field plus special orbit-dependent non-separable pairing model with multi non-degenerate j-orbits

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
Exact solution of spherical mean-field plus a special orbit-dependent non-separable pairing Hamiltonian with multi non-degenerate j-orbits, which is related to two previously known hyperbolic Gaudin models, is explored.

Strong traces for degenerate parabolic-hyperbolic equations and applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
textWe consider bounded weak solutions u of a degenerate parabolic-hyperbolic equation defined in a subset [mathematical symbols]. We define strong notion of trace at the boundary [mathematical symbols] reached by L¹ convergence for a large class of ...

On quasilinear hyperbolic equations with degenerate principal part

open access: yesTsukuba Journal of Mathematics, 1998
The goal of the present paper is to study the quasilinear weakly hyperbolic Cauchy problem \[ u_{tt}= \sum_{i,j} (a_{ij}(t,x)u_{x_i})_{x_j}+ f(t,x,u,\nabla_x u), \] \[ u(0,x)= u_0(x),\quad u_t(0,x)= u_1(x). \] Here weakly hyperbolic means \[ 0\leq \sum^n_{i,j= 1} a_{ij}(t,x)\xi_j \xi_j\leq \Lambda|\xi|^2.

Standardized Effect Measures Informing Next‐Generation Strategies for Mechanical Stimulation in Cartilage Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This systematic review quantitatively compares conventional mechanical stimulation strategies in cartilage tissue engineering across 85 heterogeneous in vitro studies. Applying standardized effect measures, meta‐analysis reveals that combined compression and shear loading optimally promotes cartilage matrix development.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Hyperbolic-parabolic normal form and local classical solutions for cross-diffusion systems with incomplete diffusion

open access: yes, 2022
We investigate degenerate cross-diffusion equations with a rank-deficient diffusion matrix that are considered to model populations which move as to avoid spatial crowding and have recently been found to arise in a mean-field limit of interacting ...

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

Tailoring Phonon‐Driven Responses in α‐MoO3 through Isotopic Enrichment

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The implementation of polaritonic materials into nanoscale devices requires selective tuning of parameters to realize desired spectral or thermal responses. One robust material, α‐MoO3, an orthorhombic crystal boasting three distinct phonon dispersions, provides three polaritonic dispersions of hyperbolic phonon polaritons (HPhPs) across the ...
