Propagation of Smoothness for Edge-degenerate Wave Equations
2001A propagation result for an edge-degenerate wave equation in 1+1 dimensions is proved. The proposed method generalizes to other edge-degenerate wave equations.

Persistent regional null controllability of some degenerate wave equations
Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2017This paper is addressed to a study of the persistent regional null controllability problems for one‐dimensional linear degenerate wave equations through a distributed controller. Different from non‐degenerate wave equations, the classical null controllability results do not hold for some degenerate wave equations.

In this letter, we investigate traveling wave solutions of a nonlinear wave equation with degenerate dispersion. The phase portraits of corresponding traveling wave system are given under different parametric conditions. Some periodic wave and smooth solitary wave solutions of the equation are obtained.
