Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Relaxing the Molecular Clock to Different Degrees for Different Substitution Types [PDF]
Rates of molecular evolution can vary over time. Diverse statistical techniques for divergence time estimation have been developed to accommodate this variation. These typically require that all sequence (or codon) positions at a locus change independently of one another.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Logistic planning and drug formularies : considerations for clinically effective drug substitution [PDF]
PhDDrug substitution is mainly economically not medically-driven; it can benefit healthcare services but does not directly benefit individual patients. Many healthcare providers have been promoting drug substitution in an attempt to contain their costs.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Currency Substitution, portfolio Diversification and Money Demand [PDF]
We extend the Thomas (1985) dynamic optimissing model of money demand and currency substitution to the case in which the individual has no access to bonds denominated in foreign currency.

Abstract The synthesis and characterisation of cellulose sulfates were reported. Various cellulose sulfates with diverse degrees of substitution ascribed to sulfate groups (DS S ) between 0.21 and 2.59 were prepared through acetosulfation or direct sulfation of two celluloses.

CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.
