Gelled Electrolyte Containing Phosphonium Ionic Liquids for Lithium-Ion Batteries

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2018
In this work, new gelled electrolytes were prepared based on a mixture containing phosphonium ionic liquid (IL) composed of trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium cation combined with bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonimide [TFSI] counter anions and lithium salt ...

The effect of lead on dermal exposure of plasticizers in toys and associated risk assessment

open access: yesEmerging Contaminants
Numerous studies reported risk assessment of human exposure to plasticizers in toys through dermal pathways, however, dermal bioaccessibility and percutaneous penetration of plasticizers under effects of lead had been seldom studied. In the present study,

Dietary Exposure Estimation to Chemicals Transferred from Milk and Dairy Products Packaging Materials in Spanish Child and Adolescent Population

open access: yesFoods, 2020
Packaging materials are subject to risk assessment since they can transfer their components to the food, and they may constitute a risk for the consumers’ health. Therefore, estimating the exposure to chemicals migrating from packaging is required.

Universal Reagent for Mild and Stereospecific Nucleophilic Substitution of Alcohols with Amines

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 13, March 24, 2025.
A user‐friendly, shelf‐stable protonated betaine reagent (BEHT triflate), derived from Mitsunobu reagents, has been developed to enable the direct displacement of alcohols using primary and secondary amines as nucleophiles. The reaction with chiral, non‐racemic secondary alcohols proceeds with inversion of configuration, allowing for one‐step formation

Impact of decarbonized heating sector at local scale on the national power grid

open access: yesEnergy Reports
The space heating sector contributes significantly to global CO2 emissions due to its heavy reliance on fossil fuels. Electrification is a key strategy for decarbonizing this sector, with a dual impact that must be assessed: a reduction in emissions, at ...

Celebrating Ten Years of Covalent Organic Frameworks for Solar Energy Conversion: Past, Present and Future

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 136, Issue 49, December 2, 2024.
With the first report of covalent organic frameworks as photocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in 2014, a new type of “soft photocatalyst” was released. Here, a historical overview as well as the current state of the art and future perspectives on various photocatalytic reactions including CO2 reduction (CO2RR), overall water ...

Na2Fe3(SO4)4: A Zero‐Strain Sustainable Positive Electrode Material for Na‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 137, Issue 44, October 27, 2025.
A new sustainable zero‐strain Na2Fe3(SO4)4 (NFS) positive electrode material is obtained by only ball‐milling from cheap and available Na2SO4 and FeSO4. Iron coordination polyhedra include the Fe2O11 dimer of distorted octahedra (active during cycling) and FeO5 trigonal bipyramid, similar to that in the relative Pbca‐Na2Mn3(SO4)4 (NMS).
