Monitoring and assessment for obstructive sleep apnea

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
This review systematically classifies Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) monitoring indicators into three categories: physical, biochemical, and electrophysiological indicators, and lists several methods for each category. Abstract Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common chronic sleep‐disordered breathing disease characterized by recurrent upper airway ...

Integrating tunable LED‐induced plant responses with novel solar cell technologies for energy‐efficient agrivoltaic systems

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
The increasing demand for sustainable food production requires innovative solutions that balance productivity, resource efficiency, and environmental impact. Vertical Farming Systems (VFSs) offer a promising approach; however, their high energy consumption remains challenging.

Reconsidering how to dry orthodox seeds for improved ex situ conservation outcomes

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Ex situ seed conservation is an essential tool in our efforts to conserve wild and cultivated plant diversity, as mentioned in the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation and the Sustainable Development Goals. While there are established standards which seed banks follow, it is important that we continue to evaluate protocols and optimize processes ...

Advances in Floating Solar Desalination Systems

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, EarlyView.
This review critically classifies floating solar desalination systems into five main categories and compares their thermal performance, productivity and technological limitations. Membrane‐based and multieffect systems showed the highest efficiencies, while traditional designs remain limited by heat losses and scaling.

Cryogen‐Aided Chromatographic Purification of Millimole Quantities of Methane for Spectroscopic Clumped Isotope Analysis

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 40, Issue 18, 30 September 2026.
ABSTRACT Rationale Quantum cascade laser absorption spectroscopy (QCLAS) is a fast and reliable method for analyzing the bulk (𝛿13C‐CH4, 𝛿D‐CH4) and clumped isotopic (∆13CH3D and ∆12CH2D2) composition of methane. However, precise measurements of ∆12CH2D2 require 0.5 to 1.8 mmol of purified methane (equivalent to 15 to 40 mL at STP).

Numerical Simulation on the Mass Transfer Characteristics of Silica Gel Desiccant Coating during Isothermal Dehumidification Process

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2023
Complex heat and mass coupleding transfer phenomena exist in a solid dehumidification cycle, where the adsorption heat released by the desiccant during the adsorption stage will reduce dehumidification performance, while ideal isothermal dehumidification

Humidity Control of RMU Based on COMSOL Simulation Analysis

open access: yesZhongguo dianli, 2020
The long-term operation of ring main unit (RMU) in humid condensation environment will lead to the decrease of insulation strength of equipment, which will result in discharge and breakdown faults, and further shorten the service life of equipment ...

Optimising the greenhouse cultivation of Lotus japonicus under dimmable LED

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, Volume 189, Issue 2, September 2026.
Optimisation of growth conditions for Lotus japonicus ecotypes MG‐20 and Gifu in climate‐controlled greenhouses indicated that L. japonicus produced less flowers and pods under the fluctuating light of mobile LED (location = 5) than under stationary LED (location = 9) and the effect of the light source increased under low ambient light conditions in ...

Effect of Prolonged Dehumidification on the Chemical Properties of Crassiacarpa and Mangium Honey

open access: yesBiology, Medicine & Natural Product Chemistry
Honey is a natural substance bees produce from nectar, flower sap, or liquid collected from living plant parts. The honey undergoes bee modification and binding before being stored in hexagonal combs.

Dehumidification Grain Dryer [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
A new technique developed during this project dries grain with mildly heated, dehumidified air in a closed-loop process. This proposed technique uses about one-tenth the energy and dries grain at a lower temperature, producing less damage to the kernels.Approximately 250 million automotive and truck tires are discarded each year in the U.S.
