A MULTIFUNCTION DEHUMIDIFYING HEAT PUMP FOR GREENHOUSES

Acta Horticulturae, 2011
mprovements in greenhouse structure and equipment with the aim of saving energy (double walls, thermal screens) have led to better insulation and airtightness but have also induced microclimatic changes, especially on nighttime humidity levels. During the last decade, dynamic climate procedures such as temperature integration have been frequently ...

Heat pump dehumidifier drying of food

Trends in Food Science & Technology, 1997
Although heat pumps have been used extensively in industry for many years, their use for drying, especially foods, has been limited. This article reviews the potential of heat pump dehumidifier (HPD) dryers for use in food drying. HPD dryers offer several advantages over conventional hot-air dryers for the drying of food products, including higher ...

Performance of Cross-Cooled Desiccant Dehumidifiers

Journal of Solar Energy Engineering, 1983
A cross-cooled silica gel desiccant dehumidifier model was designed, built, and tested. The performance of the unit was studied as a function of the inlet process stream dew point, process stream and cooling stream flow rates, and regeneration stream temperature and dew point. The tests were also simulated by a computer program and were compared to the

Advanced dehumidifiers for moisture control

Batiment International, Building Research and Practice, 1981
As thermal insulation improves so ventilation losses assume crucial importance for energy economy. In temperate climates this factor is closely related to moisture and temperatures in the home. Since ventilation control is never easy, moisture generation can be controlled by heat pumps, which are already used for this purpose in Italy, Japan and the ...

THERMOELECTRIC DEHUMIDIFIER BASED WATER GENERATOR

Water is one of the fundamental building blocks of all forms of life. Even though around 80 percent of the world is covered by water, the composition of water which is fit for domestic use is pretty much less. Having in mind that fresh water is mainly obtained through the monsoon season, chances of monsoon failure have been high in recent times making ...

Building Facades as Passive Dehumidifiers

In hot and humid climates, prolonged periods of discomfort arise due to elevated temperatures and humidity  levels, posing risks such as hyperthermia and mortality (Mora et al., 2017). Human comfort is influenced by both  external factors like temperature and humidity, and internal factors such as metabolic heat. While perspiration  serves as the body'

Thermodyinamic aspects of dehumidifying drying

1998
The method for minimization of unit heat consumption by the optimal selection of the air cooler parameters was performed. Energy consumption can be reduced by heat recuperation in condenser from 15 up to 20%. The using of a heat pump enables to save up to 70%.
