Structure of the product of dehydration of glutamic acid
Tetrahedron, 1966Abstract Acylation of glutamic acid with glutaric anhydride instead of affording the expected N-glutaryl derivative yielded a high melting 1 substance (340° with dec) which was shown by X-ray diffraction, IR and UV to be identical with that obtained by King et al. , and Tesuo et al. , from glutamic acid by dehydration. The tetraketo structure (I),

Crystal Structure of Dehydrated Wairakite
Journal of Structural Chemistry, 2002Single‐crystal X‐ray analysis was employed to study dehydrated wairakite Ca0.97Na0.06K0.03×[Al1.95Si4.04O12] with the following parameters: a = 18.260(4) A, b = 18.284(4) A, c = 13.432(3) A, β = 90.28(3)°, V = 4989(3) A3, Z = 16, space group B21/d. A comparison was carried out with the structure of the high‐temperature (600°) phase, space group I41/acd.

Food dehydration and product structure
Trends in Food Science & Technology, 2003Abstract Dehydration of biological material is a controlled effort to preserve the structure or create a new one that serves for functional purposes. In this context, food dehydration is revisited from the perspective of recent advances in food materials science, knowledge from desiccation in Nature, microstructural probing, novel processing ...

Structural modifications induced by dehydration in the zeolite gismondine
Zeolites, 1993Abstract Gismondine from Montalto di Castro, Italy [Ca3.91Al7.77Si8.22O32·17.57 H2O], a = 10.0199(4), b = 10.6373(5), c = 9.8316(5) A , β = 92.561(6)°, space group P21/c, dehydrated in vacuum for 1 and 24 h and transformed into two new phases, here called gismondine (1 h) and gismondine (24 h), respectively. Gismondine (1 h) is characterized

Structural changes of water in a hydrogel during dehydration
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2009Raman spectra of poly-N,N,-dimethylacrylamide hydrogel were measured in order to investigate the mechanism of the structural changes in water and the polymer network during dehydration. The results show that the vibrational energies of the CO and the O–H stretching modes increase with the extent of dehydration, whereas that of the CH3 rocking mode ...
