Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Sustainable load of fibre delay line buffers [PDF]

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2004
The sustainable load of fibre delay line buffers, defined as the load at which a system with infinite buffering capacity becomes unstable, is discussed. Owing to the particularities of fibre delay line buffers, namely their finite delay granularity, this sustainable load is generally less than 100%. It is further shown that the packet-size distribution

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Influence of Loading Rate on the Energy Evolution Characteristics of Rocks under Cyclic Loading and Unloading

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
To analyse the effect of loading rate on the energy evolution of rocks under cyclic loading and unloading, tests on saturated limestone were conducted at loading rates of 0.15, 0.2, and 0.3 mm/min, and the evolution characteristics of plastic, elastic ...
