PaMTH1 is an O-methyltransferase catalysing the methylation of vicinal hydroxyl groups of polyphenols. The protein accumulates during ageing of Podospora anserina in both the cytosol and in the mitochondrial matrix.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Identification and characterization of a homozygous deletion found in ovarian ascites by representational difference analysis

We have performed representational difference analysis (RDA) on DNA from tumor cells and normal fibroblasts isolated from the ascites of a patient with ovarian cancer. Five of six products of the RDA were homozygously deleted from the tumor DNA.
