Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Distributed Deterministic Edge Coloring using Bounded Neighborhood Independence [PDF]
We study the {edge-coloring} problem in the message-passing model of distributed computing. This is one of the most fundamental and well-studied problems in this area.

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

Let \(X\) be a subset of the real line. We say that \(X\) is a \(\Delta\)-set if whenever \(\{D_ n\): \(n< \omega\}\) is a decreasing sequence of subsets of \(X\) with empty intersection, there exists a decreasing sequence \(\{E_ n\): \(n< \omega\}\) of relatively open subsets of \(X\), also with empty intersection, such that for every \(n\), \(D_ n ...

On a Possibility to Determine the Sign of the Polarized Gluon Distribution [PDF]
We investigate the possibility to draw conclusions on the sign of the spin-dependent gluon distribution, $\Delta G(x, Q^2)$, from existing polarized DIS data.

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Shoreline Change around a River Delta on the Cox’s Bazar Coast of Bangladesh
A recent erosional problem around a river delta on the Cox’s Bazar coast was analyzed in this study. The coastline extends from south to north. Rapid erosion has affected some portions of a 24-km road along the coast, and local authorities have ...
