Le cap des 100 millions en Égypte. Discours de crise et stratégies à l’aune des changements environnementaux globaux

open access: yesEspace populations sociétés, 2023
With more than 100 million inhabitants, Egypt is a demographic giant. Nowadays, the country wins one million inhabitants every 7 months and its population is extremely young: two thirds of Egyptians are less than 30 years old.

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

H-vectors of simplicial complexes with Serre's conditions

open access: yes, 2009
We study $h$-vectors of simplicial complexes which satisfy Serre's condition ($S_r$). We say that a simplicial complex $\Delta$ satisfies Serre's condition ($S_r$) if $\tilde H_i(\lk_\Delta(F);K)=0$ for all faces $F \in \Delta$ and for all $i < \min \{r ...

Specific Increase of Hippocampal Delta Oscillations Across Consecutive Treadmill Runs

open access: yesFrontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience, 2020
Running speed affects theta (6–10 Hz) oscillations, the most prominent rhythm in the rat hippocampus. Many reports have found a strong positive correlation between locomotion speed and the amplitude and frequency of theta oscillations.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Hydrology as a Driver of Floating River Plastic Transport

open access: yesEarth's Future, 2022
Plastic pollution in aquatic ecosystems is a growing threat to ecosystem health and human livelihood. Recent studies show that the majority of environmental plastics accumulate within river systems for years, decades and potentially even longer.
