Iterative solution of elliptic equations
We reduce solution of the Dirichlet problem ($x \in D \subset R^m$) \[ \Delta u(x)+a(x)u(x)=f(x) \quad \mbox{in $D$}, \qquad u=0 \quad \mbox{on $\partial D$} \] to iterative solution of a simpler problem \[ \Delta u=f(x) \; \; \mbox{in $D$}, \; \; u=0

Delta method, asymptotic distribution
AbstractThe delta method for deriving asymptotic distributions is presented. Assume interest lies in where is an unknown parameter and is a known function. The delta method allows to immediately obtain an approximation of the distribution of the plug‐in estimator through the asymptotic distribution ofwheneverthe asymptotic distribution of is known and ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Collisional {delta}f method [PDF]
A general method for including various collisional effects, such as the drag and diffusion of test particles due to background plasmas, the effect of particle source and sink, and the like-particle Coulomb collisions, is presented. The marker density g is generally unknown along the particle trajectory, and its evaluation depends on the way particles ...

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Determining Minimum Trial Numbers for Reliable Lameness Detection in Canine Kinematic Studies
Visual orthopedic gait assessment in dogs is recognized as subjective and is limited by interobserver variability. Objective detection of lameness is offered by biomechanical analysis, where asymmetry between limbs is quantified through kinematic ...

Low delta-T syndrome often occurs in building chilled water systems, which makes systems fail to operate as efficiently as originally anticipated. Extensive studies have been conducted on the subject of low delta-T syndrome with the aims of investigating

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in
