Numerical simulations of sunspots [PDF]
The origin, structure and evolution of sunspots are investigated using a numerical model. The compressible MHD equations are solved with physical parameter values that approximate the top layer of the solar convection zone.

Successive Flux Rope Eruptions from δ-sunspots Region of NOAA 12673 and Associated X-class Eruptive Flares on 2017 September 6 [PDF]
Abstract In this article, we present a multiwavelength analysis of two X-class solar eruptive flares of classes X2.2 and X9.3 that occurred in the sigmoidal active region NOAA 12673 on 2017 September 6, by combining observations of Atmospheric Imaging Assembly and Helioseismic Magnetic Imager instruments on board the Solar Dynamics ...

A MULTI-INSTRUMENT ANALYSIS OF A C4.1 FLARE OCCURRING IN A δ SUNSPOT
ABSTRACT We present an analysis of multi-instrument space- and ground-based observations relevant to a C4.1 solar flare that occurred in the active region (AR) NOAA 11267 on 2011 August 6. Solar Dynamics Observatory observations indicate that at the flare’s beginning, it was localized in the preceding sunspot of the AR, which exhibits a ...

ABSTRACT Background The tight junction protein CLDN6 has been identified as a cancer‐associated cell surface marker that is rarely expressed in healthy tissues. In testicular germ cell tumors (GCT), CLDN6 is particularly detectable in seminomas, embryonal carcinomas, and choriocarcinomas.

Abstract Purpose Early diagnosis of macular telangiectasia type 2 (MacTel) remains challenging, and the contribution of genetic variation to its clinical heterogeneity is unclear. This study investigated associations between MacTel risk variants and clinical characteristics in a Slovenian cohort.

Fine Structure and Formation Mechanism of a Sunspot Bipolar Light Bridge in NOAA AR 13663
Bipolar light bridges (BLBs) are bright regions located between sunspot umbrae of opposite magnetic polarity. They are typically characterized by strong magnetic fields and intense flows, which are believed to be closely associated with major solar ...

Geopolitical Risk and Domestic Bank Deposits
ABSTRACT We investigate the relationship between global geopolitical risk and bank deposit flows across a wide panel of European countries. Motivated by the pivotal role of deposit stability for financial intermediation and systemic resilience, we explore whether geopolitical shocks alter depositors’ portfolio choices.

Rational Expectations Fools' Bubbles
ABSTRACT We develop a rational, Walrasian model of speculative bubbles inspired by the Kindleberger–Minsky view, which describes bubbles as wave‐like market processes. Touched off by an initial shock, price booms are initially self‐reinforcing but become self‐destructive later when prices surpass fundamental value.

Detecting Periodicity of a General Stationary Time Series via AR(2)‐Model Fitting
ABSTRACT Estimating the periodicity of a stationary time series via fitting a second‐order stationary autoregressive (AR(2)) model has been initiated by the seminal paper of Yule (1927). We investigate properties of this procedure when applied to general stationary processes possessing a spectral density with a dominant peak at some unknown frequency ...
