Iterated clustering optimization of the split-delivery vehicle routing problem considering passenger walking distance

open access: yesTransportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives, 2023
The user-oriented, demand-driven nature of customized shuttle bus (CSB) services forces operators to pay more attention to service quality. However, the bus route planning of CSB and other similar systems in established studies rarely took service ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Personalized Demand-Responsive Transit Service [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Providing easy access to the public transit service is the goal of the California transit agencies. Many travelers cannot take an express transit because they often cannot park and ride. Smart DRT (demand responsive transit) Feeder is a system that collects transit riders from neighborhoods and takes them to transit stations. This system will use APTS (

Why do demand responsive transport systems fail? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In developed countries, Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) (loosely termed 'paratransit' in US parlance) emerged in the 1970s to serve the specialist niche market of people with mobility difficulties.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Fixed-Route vs. Demand-Responsive Transport Feeder Services: An Exploratory Study Using an Agent-Based Model

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Transportation, 2022
Feeder transport services are fundamental as first and last-mile connectors of mass rapid transit (MRT). They are especially beneficial in low-demand areas where private transport is usually the main transport mode.
