Demodulation as Probabilistic Inference [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing, 2011
Demodulation is an ill-posed problem whenever both carrier and envelope signals are broadband and unknown. Here, we approach this problem using the methods of probabilistic inference. The new approach, called Probabilistic Amplitude Demodulation (PAD), is computationally challenging but improves on existing methods in a number of ways.

Selective Identification and Localization of Voltage Fluctuation Sources in Power Grids

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
The current study presents a novel approach to the selective identification and localization of voltage fluctuation sources in power grids, considering individual disturbing loads changing their state with a frequency of up to 150Hz.

Design and Verification of a Digital Controller for a 2-Piece Hemispherical Resonator Gyroscope

open access: yesSensors, 2016
A Hemispherical Resonator Gyro (HRG) is the Coriolis Vibratory Gyro (CVG) that measures rotation angle or angular velocity using Coriolis force acting the vibrating mass.

Innovative Demodulation Scheme for Coherent Detectors in CMB Experiments

open access: yes, 2012
We propose an innovative demodulation scheme for coherent detectors used in cosmic microwave background polarization experiments. Removal of non-white noise, e.g., narrow-band noise, in detectors is one of the key requirements for the experiments.

A Carrier Signal Approach for Intermittent Fault Detection and Health Monitoring for Electronics Interconnections System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
: Intermittent faults are completely missed out by traditional monitoring and detection techniques due to non-stationary nature of signals. These are the incipient events of a precursor of permanent faults to come.

Quantum-Noise Power Spectrum of Fields with Discrete Classical Components [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We present an algorithmic approach to calculate the quantum-noise spectral density of photocurrents generated by optical fields with arbitrary discrete classical spectrum in coherent or squeezed states.

Multidirectional Motion Strategy of Miniature Water Surface Robot Actuated by Single Exciter

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A novel multidirectional motion strategy on the water surface based on a single exciter is proposed, and a single‐exciter single‐plate module is developed for actuation. The driving forces generation mechanism of the module is revealed from the perspective of the asymmetric surface wave field.
