Commensurate $4a_0$ period Charge Density Modulations throughout the $Bi_2Sr_2CaCu_2O_{8+x}$ Pseudogap Regime

open access: yes, 2016
Theories based upon strong real space (r-space) electron electron interactions have long predicted that unidirectional charge density modulations (CDM) with four unit cell (4$a_0$) periodicity should occur in the hole doped cuprate Mott insulator (MI ...

Detection of Particulate Matter With Lock‐In Thermography

open access: yesCleanMat, EarlyView.
Accurate quantification of black carbon is essential due to its significant impact on climate, air quality, and human health. Lock‐in thermography (LIT), as implemented by NanoLockin's instrument Calorsito, offers a sensitive, scalable, and reproducible approach for detecting black carbon on filter substrates.

Transient Charging Dynamics in Stacked Ga2O3/ZnO Photovoltaic Units Governing Wavelength‐Selective Polarity Switching

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This work reveals a “Photovoltaic‐Capacitance” coupling mechanism in stacked Ga2O3/ZnO devices, defining the ZnO/graphene interface as a novel Photovoltaic Dynamic‐Capacitor (PDC). The wavelength‐selective bipolar response enables a physical layer secure communication protocol based on ternary optical logic (“1,” “0,” “−1”).

Hemodynamic Modeling and Phase‐Adjustable Reconstruction of Hyperpolarized Cardiac 13C MRS Using 1H Cine and ECG Timing

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To deconvolve cardiac phase and hemodynamic effects in hyperpolarized (HP) [1‐13C]pyruvate and to develop a cardiac phase‐adjustable reconstruction framework. Methods Cardiac phase drift during dynamic acquisition of HP 13C MRS and its effect on dynamic signal fidelity were simulated using a digital cardiac phantom. A hemodynamic model

Spatiotemporal heterodyne detection

open access: yes, 2007
We describe a scheme into which a camera is turned into an efficient tunable frequency filter of a few Hertz bandwidth in an off-axis, heterodyne optical mixing configuration, enabling to perform parallel, high-resolution coherent spectral imaging.
