Analysis of Wavelength Demultiplexer based on Photonic Crystals

open access: yes, 2005
A wavelength demultiplexer based on photonic crystal waveguide (PCW) couplers is presented. A numerical approach based on the two-dimensional finite-difference time domain is employed to analyse, design and optimise the wavelength demultiplexer based on ...

Toward Plasmonic Neuronal Architectures at the Nanometer Scale

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 7, 13 April 2026.
The concept of a plasmonic neural cell is realized through the integration of multiplexed optical inputs, static weighting, and nonlinear readout. The inputs are encoded in the orbital angular momentum of light and coupled into dielectric‐loaded plasmonic waveguides via nanostructured slits.

Electrically Tunable On‐Chip Topological Photonics with Integrated Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 21, 12 March 2026.
This work demonstrates electrically tunable on‐chip topological THz devices by integrating 2D carbon nanotube (CNT) sheets with valley‐Hall photonic crystals, enabling broadband transmission modulation (71% modulation depth) and tunable narrowband filtering (0.54 GHz shift) through electrically induced thermal tuning. This advancement paves the way for

Photo‐Reconfigurable Supercoupling Induced Transparency in On‐Chip Topological Edge State Cavities

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 13, 3 March 2026.
A novel supercoupling induced transparency (SIT) is demonstrated in a valley‐Hall photonic crystal. The valley vortices enable the supercoupling between a leaky and a guided topological edge state cavity even across a distance of 4.3 wavelengths, inducing a transparency window with negligible reflection.

Mode demultiplexer using angularly multiplexed volume holograms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This study proposes a volume holographic demultiplexer (VHDM) for extracting the spatial modes excited in a multimode fiber. A unique feature of the demultiplexer is that it can separate a number of multiplexed modes output from a fiber in different ...
