Electrodiagnostic evaluation in diabetes mellitus: A study based on case series in 72 diabetic patients

open access: yesJournal of Family Medicine and Primary Care
Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is one of the most common complications of diabetes; so, a nerve conduction study (NCS) is conducted to detect the type of neuropathy that is present. To discuss the NCS findings in diabetic patients. An observational

Anti-NMDAR Antibodies in Demyelinating Diseases

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction: Antibodies against N-methyl D-aspartate receptor (anti-NMDAR) are directly pathogenic autoantibodies associated with encephalitis. Cases reporting the presence of anti-NMDAR antibodies associated with a demyelinating disease have been ...

Predicting relapse in demyelinating diseases in children [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Introduction. Predicting relapse in acute demyelinating episode (ADE) in children is an urgent problem, since progressive demyelinating diseases are associated with the risk of disability and cognitive impairment.Введение.

The E3 Ubiquitin Ligase RLIM Safeguards Oligodendrocyte Development and Myelination by Targeting SLC7A11 for Polyubiquitination to Regulate Ferroptotic Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RLIM‐mediated SLC7A11 polyubiquitination is required for SPTBN2‐mediated trafficking and membrane localization of SLC7A11, which enables oligodendrocyte precursor cells to be resistant to ferroptosis and safeguards oligodendrocyte lineage progression and thus myelination.

Autoantibodies to tetraspanins (CD9, CD81 and CD82) in demyelinating diseases

open access: yes, 2016
Tetraspanin family proteins, CD9, CD81 and CD82 are expressed in the oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells. We investigated autoantibodies to tetraspanin proteins in patients with demyelinating diseases.

S100A8/A9‐High Macrophages Activate Intestinal Fibroblasts via mCCL6/hCCL15‐CCR1 Axis to Drive Intestinal Fibrosis in Crohn's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
S100A8/A9‐high macrophages are markedly enriched in the stenotic intestinal tissue of patients with Crohn's disease. These profibrotic macrophages secrete mCCL6 in a STAT3‐dependent manner. mCCL6 and its human ortholog hCCL15 activate fibroblasts via the CCR1 receptor, thereby driving excessive collagen deposition.

A Multidimensional Engineering Strategy Reprograms Microglia via Targeted and Sustained‐Release Extracellular Vesicles for Spinal Cord Injury Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional EV‐based nanoplatform (Ang‐TEVs@Gel) was engineered via preconditioning, surface targeting, and ROS‐responsive hydrogel encapsulation to reprogram microglia. This system restored autophagy via miR‐664a‐3p/PIK3CA axis, cleared myelin debris, resolved neuroinflammation, and promoted axon remyelination, ultimately achieving robust motor ...

Evaluation of Revised Diagnostic Definition of MS

open access: yesPediatric Neurology Briefs, 2014
Investigators at Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The Netherlands, evaluated the 2012 revised IPMSSG consensus definitions in a cohort of children with acquired demyelinating syndromes (ADS) prospectively followed for 2 years from Jan 2007.

Electrodiagnosis of demyelinating neuropathies.

open access: yes, 2000
The inflammatory demyelinating neuropathies constitute a significant proportion of the acquired polyneuropathies. Major progress in finding the causes and in the treatment of these neuropathies has been made over the last decade.

Upadacitinib Restrains the Pathogenic Fitness of CD4+ T Cells and Aberrant B Cell Programming in Optic Neuritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell profiling and functional perturbation reveal coordinated JAK1‐pSTAT3 downstream programs in optic neuritis, including MCL1‐dependent fitness of pathogenic CD4+ Tem cells and glycolysis‐linked, cholesterol‐sensitive B‐cell responses associated with RORA. Upadacitinib disrupts this reciprocal T‐B‐cell circuit and alleviates neuroinflammation,
