Clinical Applications of Electrical Conductivity Imaging Using MRI
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 63, Issue 5, Page 1224-1245, May 2026.ABSTRACT Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has emerged as a noninvasive technique for probing the electrical properties of biological tissues: electrical conductivity and relative permittivity. This review focuses on the electrical conductivity and provides a comprehensive overview of applications across both low‐ and high‐frequency regimes.Stefano Mandija, Khin Khin Tha, Nitish Katoch, Cihan Göksu, Ulrich Katscher, Rosalind Sadleir, Kyu‐Jin Jung, Jierong Luo, Ilias I. Muscle &Nerve, Volume 73, Issue 5, Page 765-771, May 2026.ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims
Guidelines for the management of chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) recommend corticosteroids, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg), or plasma exchange for first‐line therapies and subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIg) as a maintenance option.Tuan Vu, Claudia Guerra, Niraja Suresh, Sami Khella, Jamie Morrell, Michael Pulley, Nan Jiang, Khema Sharma, Tulio Bertorini, Nivedita Jerath, Amanda Peltier +10 morewiley +1 more sourceDynamics of Nerve Conduction Studies in Patients With Guillain–Barré Syndrome
Muscle &Nerve, Volume 73, Issue 5, Page 832-842, May 2026.ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims
The value of electrodiagnostic subtyping of Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) is still debated. This study aimed to determine the diagnostic yield, timing, and changes of the electrodiagnostic subtyping in patients with GBS in serial nerve conduction studies (NCS).Samuel Arends, Laura de Koning, Judith Drenthen, Mahova Zhu, Peter Y. Muscle &Nerve, Volume 73, Issue 5, Page 898-905, May 2026.ABSTRACT Introduction/Aims
Peripheral neuropathy, especially mononeuropathy multiplex, is a frequent manifestation of leprosy. Electrodiagnostic studies (EDX) usually show predominant axonal involvement. In this study, we report patients with prominent demyelinating abnormalities consistent with the diagnosis of chronic inflammatory demyelinating ...Cendrine Foucard, Marie Jachiet, Karine Viala, Thierry Maisonobe, Guillaume Fargeot +4 morewiley +1 more sourceA Novel Perspective on Multiple Sclerosis: Morphological Shifts in Immune Cell Populations
Progress in Neurology and Psychiatry, Volume 30, Issue 2, May 2026.ABSTRACT
This study aims to investigate expanded hematological data in multiple sclerosis (MS) and evaluate their association with disease severity. A total of 190 patients participated in the study. For this purpose, expanded hemocytometry data were compared between 120 patients diagnosed with MS and 70 healthy controls.Hayrettin Yavuz, Özlem Kayım Yıldız, Serkan Bolat, Demet Kablan, Selda Özer, Kübra Doğan, Şeyda Figül Gökçe, Meltem Kurt Yenihan, Halef Okan Doğan +8 morewiley +1 more sourceNeurological Disorders in Dogs: A Retrospective Analysis of Prevalence, Aetiology, Lesion Locations, and Regional Variations in Northeastern Iran
Veterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.This retrospective study evaluated 422 dogs with neurological disorders among 9131 canine referrals over 8.5 years in northeastern Iran. Infectious diseases, particularly canine distemper (33.2%), were the leading cause, followed by trauma and idiopathic conditions. The prosencephalon was the most frequently affected anatomical region.Ali Behrouzian, Ali Asghar Sarchahi, Hadi Jabbari Noghabi +2 morewiley +1 more source
