Fluorinated Amphiphilic Dendrimer to Improve PET Imaging of Cancer

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Fluorination of a self‐assembling dendrimer nanosystem reduced liver retention, accelerated renal clearance and improved biodistribution, ultimately enhancing tumor uptake and enabling more sensitive tumor detection by positron emission tomography (PET).

Dendrimer-Based Platform for Effective Capture of Tumor Cells after TGFβ1‑Induced Epithelial–Mesenchymal Transition

open access: yes, 2019
Detection of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) relying on their expression of epithelial cell markers, such as epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM), has been commonly used.

Energy Transfer in Nanodroplet‐Based Luminescent Solar Concentrators

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
We present novel luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) featuring polymer composites with fluorescent dye‐doped oil nanodroplets. This liquid environment ensures high dye solubility and preserves fluorescence quantum yields, even at high local dye concentrations.

The synthesis and adsorption properties of some carbohydrate-terminated dendrimer wedges [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
A range of dendritic molecules that are designed to bind to a cotton surface has been synthesised. The architecture of the molecules allows the location of various functional, property modifying units at the focus and the attachment of recognition groups

Dendrimer-Templated Synthesis and Characterization of Tin Oxide Quantum Dots Deposited on a Silica Glass Substrate

open access: yes, 2019
Tin oxide quantum dots (QDs) have attracted much attention because of their low toxicity and the absence of cadmium and other poisonous elements. In this paper, we report the novel synthetic method for size-controlled tin oxide QDs using dendrimers as a ...

Unraveling the Physicochemical Landscape of Organoselenium Compounds in Nanocarrier Systems

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
Main nanocarriers employed to enhance the bioavailability and transport of organoselenium compounds. The image illustrates the key interaction forces that stabilize these organoselenium species in solution, enabling their application in drug delivery systems, catalysis, photoelectronic devices, and sensing technologies. In recent years, publications on

Gene delivery using dendrimer/pDNA complexes immobilized in electrospun fibers using the Layer-by-Layer technique

open access: yes, 2016
A gene delivery platform for potential use in tissue engineering applications was developed by surface functionalization of biodegradable electrospun poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) fibers with nanolayers of chitosan (cationic polymer) and alginate (

Dendrimeric Antigens for Passive Mast Cell Activation in the Evaluation of Amoxicillin Allergy

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
DeAns with defined nanoscale structure reveal that conjugate size and determinant density govern IgE‐mediated effector‐cell activation in AX allergy. All DeAn generations bind to sIgE in inhibition immunoassay, but only larger DeAns trigger FcεRI‐dependent responses in mouse MC, huRBL‐2H3, and LUVA cells.

Polyvalent Folate-Dendrimer-Coated Iron Oxide Theranostic Nanoparticles for Simultaneous Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Precise Cancer Cell Targeting

open access: yes, 2017
The low therapeutic index of conventional chemotherapy and poor prognosis of patients diagnosed with metastatic cancers are prompting clinicians to adopt newer strategies to simultaneously detect cancer lesions at an early stage and to precisely deliver ...
