This is a survey paper on dendroids, smooth dendroids, and mainly on pointwise smooth dendroids based on the work of J. J. Charatonik and C. Eberhart (dendroids and smooth dendroids) and S. T. Czuba (pointwise smooth dendroids).

We introduce the concept of a dendroidal set. This is a generalization of the notion of a simplicial set, specially suited to the study of operads in the context of homotopy theory. We define a category of trees, which extends the category $Δ$ used in simplicial sets, whose presheaf category is the category of dendroidal sets.

Atlantia, a new genus of Dendrophylliidae (Cnidaria, Anthozoa, Scleractinia) from the eastern Atlantic [PDF]
Atlantia is described as a new genus pertaining to the family Dendrophylliidae (Anthozoa, Scleractinia) based on specimens from Cape Verde, eastern Atlantic. This taxon was first recognized as Enallopsammia micranthus and later described as a new species,

IntroductionThe genus Dinobryon is one of the most recognizable chrysophyte genera, characterized by dendroid colonies with a biflagellate inside each cellulosic lorica. The representative forms of lorica are cylindrical, conical, vase, or funnel shaped,

On dendroids with Kelley’s property [PDF]
It is proved that if a dendroid has Kelley’s property, then it is smooth. This is a correction of an error from [ 4 ].

Leaf structure of species of the Brassicaceae Burnett family in Southwestern Kyzylkum, Uzbekistan [PDF]
Leaf species of the family Brassicaceae have been studied, diagnostic features have been identified. Omitted by various types of trichomes: stellate, dendroid stomata are randomly arranged, numerous, non-submerged, mostly anomatid hemiparacytic ...

AbstractIn this chapter we will introduce the category of dendroidal sets, which is the main object of study of this book. The definition of a dendroidal set mirrors that of a simplicial set, except that the category Δ is replaced by a larger category Ω of trees.

Let X be a dendroid and x* X. 0(X, x*) will denote the preordered set of arc-components of X \ {x*}, where the preorder is defined by if cl(). In this paper we investigate conditions under which there exists a pair (X,x*) such that 0(X, x*) is isomorphic to a given preordered set.
