MORPHOLOGY, TAXONOMY AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE CRETACEOUS CORAL GENUS PREVERASTRAEA (LATE BARREMIAN-CENOMANIAN; SCLERACTINIA)

open access: yesRivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia, 2007
The Cretaceous coral genus Preverastraea is being revised, mainly on the basis of sample material. This cerioid, occasionally astreoid or phaceloid, genus is characterised by round or polygonal calices, compact septa in a regular hexameral symmetry and ...

Dendroidal Segal spaces and ∞-operads [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Topology, 2013
We introduce the dendroidal analogues of the notions of complete Segal space and of Segal category, and construct two appropriate model categories for which each of these notions corresponds to the property of being fibrant. We prove that these two model categories are Quillen equivalent to each other, and to the monoidal model category for 8-operads ...

Rigidification of dendroidal infinity-operads [PDF]

open access: yesHomology, Homotopy and Applications, 2021
We give an explicit description of the rigidification of an $\infty$-operad as a simplicial operad. This description is based on the notion of dendroidal necklace, extending work of Dugger and Spivak from the categorical context to the operadic context, although with a different framework, which relates constructions involving necklaces to a standard ...

Simplicial and Dendroidal Homotopy Theory

open access: yes, 2022
This open access book offers a self-contained introduction to the homotopy theory of simplicial and dendroidal sets and spaces. These are essential for the study of categories, operads, and algebraic structure up to coherent homotopy. The dendroidal theory combines the combinatorics of trees with the theory of Quillen model categories.

Contractibility of the hyperspace of meager subcontinua, two examples

open access: yesApplied General Topology
Given a metric continuum X, the hyperspace of meager subcontinua of X, denoted by M(X), is the collection of all subcontinua of X with empty interior. Answering questions by Norberto Ordo˜nez, in this paper we construct two dendroids showing that there ...

Dendroidal Spaces and ∞-Operads

open access: yes, 2022
AbstractRecall that a dendroidal set X is an ∞-operad if it satisfies the inner Kan condition; i.e., it has the extension property with respect to all inner horn inclusions of trees. In particular, this condition guarantees that if we interpret the sets X(T) as ‘sets of operations’ parametrized by the tree T, then there is a notion of composition of ...

Glandular and non-glandular hairs in the seasonally dimorphic Origanum dictamnus L. (Lamiaceae) as a means of adaptation to cold stress

open access: yesActa Agrobotanica, 2014
Origanum dictamnus is a seasonally dimorphic plant having different appearance in winter and summer. Shoots of winter plants are leaf-naked except for their apical region which bears a cluster of small leaves covered with a thick indumentum of non ...

The effect of rapid chair-side sterilization of contaminated endodontic files [PDF]

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Stomatology
Endodontic treatment is carried out in order to preserve a tooth whose pulp has been damaged where the injury extends to the peri-radicular tissue. The endodontic treatment is cleaning, disinfection of the root canal space and shaping it, followed by ...

Homology of dendroidal sets [PDF]

open access: yesHomology, Homotopy and Applications, 2017
We define for every dendroidal set X a chain complex and show that this assignment determines a left Quillen functor. Then we define the homology groups $H_n(X)$ as the homology groups of this chain complex. This generalizes the homology of simplicial sets.

On some new species of Ancorabolidae Sars, 1909 from the Gulf of California: the genera Ceratonotus Sars, 1909, and Dendropsyllus Conroy-Dalton, 2003 (Crustacea, Copepoda, Harpacticoida)

open access: yesZooKeys, 2017
Two new species of two genera of the family Ancorabolidae, Ceratonotus elongatus sp. n. and Dendropsyllus californiensis sp. n., found at 1642 m and 1759 m depth, respectively, in the Southern Trough of Guaymas Basin, are described. Ceratonotus elongatus
