Discrete density of states [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters A, 2016
By considering the quantum-mechanically minimum allowable energy interval, we exactly count number of states (NOS) and introduce discrete density of states (DOS) concept for a particle in a box for various dimensions. Expressions for bounded and unbounded continua are analytically recovered from discrete ones.

Many body density of states of a system of non interacting spinless fermions

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2023
The modeling of out-of-equilibrium many-body quantum systems requires to go beyond low-energy physics and single or few bodies densities of states. Many-body localization, presence or lack of thermalization and quantum chaos are examples of phenomena in ...

Origin of Magnetism in γ-FeSi2/Si(111) Nanostructures

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
Magnetism has recently been observed in nominally nonmagnetic iron disilicide in the form of epitaxial γ-FeSi2 nanostructures on Si(111) substrate. To explore the origin of the magnetism in γ-FeSi2/Si(111) nanostructures, we performed a systematic first ...

Distortion of the local density of states in a plasmonic cavity by a quantum emitter

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2021
We investigate how the local density of states in a plasmonic cavity changes due to the presence of a distorting quantum emitter. To this end, we use first-order scattering theory involving electromagnetic Green’s function tensors for the bare cavity ...

Electron-Ion Temperature Relaxation in Warm Dense Hydrogen Observed With Picosecond Resolved X-Ray Scattering

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2022
Angularly resolved X-ray scattering measurements from fs-laser heated hydrogen have been used to determine the equilibration of electron and ion temperatures in the warm dense matter regime.

New Canonical and Grand Canonical Density of States Techniques for Finite Density Lattice QCD

open access: yesParticles, 2020
We discuss two new density of states approaches for finite density lattice QCD (Quantum Chromo Dynamics). The paper extends a recent presentation of the new techniques based on Wilson fermions, while here, we now discuss and test the case of finite ...

First–Principles Calculations of Band Offsets in GaAs/AlAs System [PDF]

open access: yesProgress in Physics of Applied Materials, 2022
The lattice-matched system (GaAs)n/(AlAs)n superlattice is calculated for two different values of n=3 and 6 within ab initio pseudopotential density-functional theory using Quantum Espresso package of program exploiting the ultra-soft atomic ...

Electron spectra in double quantum wells of different shapes

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2022
We suggest a method for calculating electronic spectra in ordered and disordered semiconductor structures (superlattices) forming double quantum wells (QWs).

Liquid-infiltrated photonic crystals: Ohmic dissipation and broadening of modes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications, 2006
The pronounced light–matter interactions in photonic crystals make them interesting as opto–fludic “building blocks” for lab–on–a–chip applications.

Density of states [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of 34th annual International Symposium on Lattice Field Theory — PoS(LATTICE2016), 2017
Although Monte Carlo calculations using Importance Sampling have matured into the most widely employed method for determining first principle results in QCD, they spectacularly fail for theories with a sign problem or for which certain rare configurations play an important role.
