Current density of Majorana bound states
It is known that a non-local complex fermion can be written in terms of two Majorana fermions. We exploit this fact to explain the system of two Majorana zero modes bound to a vortex and an anti-vortex, on the surface of a topological insulator in contact with an s-wave superconductor, as a non-local complex fermion.

The scaling of the density of states in systems with resonance states
Resonance states of a two-electron quantum dot are studied using a variational expansion with both real basis-set functions and complex scaling methods.

The Local Larmor Clock, Partial Densities of States, and Mesoscopic Physics [PDF]
The local Larmor clock is used to derive a hierarchy of local densities of states. At the bottom of this hierarchy are the partial density of states for which represent the contribution to the local density of states if both the incident and outgoing ...

The Influence of One-Electron Self-Interaction on d-Electrons
We investigate four diatomic molecules containing transition metals using two variants of hybrid functionals. We compare global hybrid functionals that only partially counteract self-interaction to local hybrid functionals that are designed to be ...

Silicon–air batteries (SABs) are attracting considerable attention owing to their high theoretical energy density and superior security. In this study, In and Ga were doped into Si electrodes to optimize the capability of Si-air batteries.

The density in the density of states method
It has been suggested that for QCD at finite baryon density the distribution of the phase angle, i.e. the angle defined as the imaginary part of the logarithm of the fermion determinant, has a simple Gaussian form.

Lifshitz tails estimate for the density of states of the Anderson model [PDF]
We prove an upper bound for the (differentiated) density of states of the Anderson model at the bottom of the spectrum. The density of states is shown to exhibit the same Lifshitz tails upper bound as the integrated density of ...

Photoelectrochemical (PEC) hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) was studied on exfoliated, pristine and Pt‐decorated tungsten diselenide (p‐WSe2) nanoflake samples, using a previously developed microdroplet PEC microscopy approach.

Photon density of states for deformed surfaces
A new approach to the Helmholtz spectrum for arbitrarily shaped boundaries and a rather general class of boundary conditions is introduced. We derive the boundary induced change of the density of states in terms of the free Green's function from which we
