Single color attribute index for shade conformity judgment of dental resin composites

open access: yesDental Hypotheses, 2015
Introduction: Commercial dental resin composites under the same shade designations show color discrepancies by brand. Moreover, three Commission Internationale de l′Eclairage (CIE) color coordinates show significant variations by measurement method ...

A Nano‐Interception Strategy for Chronic Heart Failure: Prussian Blue Nanoparticles Disrupt Fibroblast‐Immune Communication via CCL2 Sequestration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A nano‐interception strategy disrupts pathogenic fibroblast–macrophage crosstalk in chronic heart failure. Scalable Prussian blue nanoparticles selectively sequester CCL2 via ultrahigh‐affinity binding, preventing CCR2+ macrophage recruitment and breaking a key fibro‐inflammatory circuit. This approach demonstrates robust efficacy in murine and porcine

An In vitro Comparative Evaluation of the Effect of Preheating of EverX Posterior, Bulk Fill and G-aenial Posterior Composite Resins on Their Microhardness and Depth of Cure

open access: yesAdvances in Human Biology
Introduction: With increasing demand for aesthetic dentistry and advancements in materials, composite resins are crucial. Bulk-fill composites, allowing thicker increments (up to 4 mm), save time but raise concerns about cure depth and hardness ...

Composite Materials Used for Dental Fillings

open access: yesMaterials
This article explores the properties of composite materials employed in dental fillings. A traditional nano-hybrid composite containing nanofiller particles exceeding 82% by weight served as a benchmark. The remaining samples were fabricated from ormocer resin, maintaining an identical nanofiller content of 84%. In all specimens, the nanoparticles were

Engineered Heparinized GQDS/HPEI–Polyamide Membrane for Bilirubin Removal via One Step Anti Coagulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A multifunctional heparinized polyamide membrane embedded with graphene quantum dots (GQDs) and hyperbranched polyethyleneimine (HPEI) is engineered for efficient bilirubin removal via a one‐step anticoagulation–adsorption process. The membrane demonstrates enhanced hemocompatibility, prolonged clotting times, and high bilirubin adsorption capacity ...

Crack Repair in Hydroxyapatite Bioceramics Using an Ultraviolet Ultrafast Laser

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The study proposes an ultrafast ultraviolet laser approach to repair hidden tooth cracks, which has been preliminarily validated on HAP. Moreover, this technique aims to strengthen the native enamel structure rather than introducing a foreign filling material.

Influence of fluoride on the mineralization of collagen via the polymer-induced liquid-precursor (PILP) process. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
ObjectiveThe polymer-induced liquid-precursor (PILP) mineralization process has been shown to remineralize artificial dentin lesions to levels consistent with those of native dentin.

Magnetically Actuated Drops‐on‐Stilts Microrobots for Transport and Delivery of Hydrophobic Cargo

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Iron oxide nanoparticles and oil droplets in external magnetic fields form “drops‐on‐stilts” microrobots that transport hydrophobic cargo. Tunable nanoparticle–droplet interactions generate stilt‐like structures. Field rotation enables walking, obstacle navigation, and collective motion.
