Profiles of Wnt pathway gene expression during tooth morphogenesis

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology
Mouse and human genetic studies indicate key roles of the Wnt10a ligand in odontogenesis. Previous studies have identified effectors and regulators of the Wnt signaling pathway actively expressed during key stages of tooth morphogenesis.

Histone Acetylation as a Regenerative Target in the Dentine-Pulp Complex

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2020
If dental caries (or tooth decay) progresses without intervention, the infection will advance through the dentine leading to severe pulpal inflammation (irreversible pulpitis) and pulp death.

Exploration of the covariation signal between cortical bone and dentine volumes across the upper limb bones and anterior teeth in modern humans and relevance to evolutionary anthropology

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 247, Issue 1, Page 29-51, July 2025.
Using microtomographic scans of modern human arm and forearm bones and anterior dentition, we quantified cortical bone and dentine volumes and their topographic distribution. Our results revealed a co‐variation between cortical bone and dentine volumes, suggesting shared factors influencing their postnatal development.

Dentinogenesis imperfecta type 1-Shield’s classification (1973): a rare case report and literature review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Dentinogenesis imperfecta (DI) is an autosomal dominant disorder that affects the dentin development. It is characterized by the presence of opalescent dentin, with dusky blue to brownish discoloration of the teeth.

Effect of autoclave sterilization on nickel ion release from stainless steel crowns and space maintainer bands

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Oral Sciences, Volume 133, Issue 3, June 2025.
Abstract This study aimed to investigate the effect of autoclave sterilization on the leaching of nickel ions from stainless steel crowns and space maintainer bands used in pediatric dentistry. Sixty space maintainer bands and 60 stainless steel crowns were divided into sterilized (Amsco Century V‐120 Prevac steam sterilizer) and non‐sterilized groups.
