Risk of debonding in three-unit resin-bonded fixed partial dentures

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1996
Resin-bonded fixed partial dentures are considered practical and conservative but have not always enjoyed longitudinal success. The long-term survival of 1637 three-unit resin-bonded fixed partial dentures was analyzed. A multistate analysis that included parameters such as debonding, rebonding, or renewal of the restoration was used.

A technique for removal of etched metal resin-bonded fixed partial dentures

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1988
Etched metal resin-bonded restorations are acceptable treatment for properly selected patients.’ Nevertheless, restorations fail at times because of factors such as contamination, improper techniques, and poor tooth selection. Usually the failure involves only one retentive wing of the restoration, with the other still bonded to the abutment tooth ...

Clinical evaluation of cast metal resin-bonded anterior fixed partial dentures

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1984
R esin-bonded fixed partial dentures offer the following significant advantages to the dentist and the patient in properly selected clinical situations: (1) tooth preparation is reduced to a minimum, (2) the procedure is reversible, (3) soft tissue management is simplified, (4) there is less problem with color matching, (5) temporary crowns are not ...

Resin-bonded fixed partial denture: a contemporary prosthesis.

General dentistry, 2000
This review of the evolution of the resin-bonded fixed partial denture (RBFPD) design, from the original "prepless" restoration to the present prosthesis, requiring careful treatment planning and technical skill, also discusses the materials used to enhance the longevity of this restoration. That, in turn, increases the patient's confidence in both the

The design of a two-part acid-etched resin-bonded fixed partial denture

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1992
A new framework design is presented for resin-bonded, acid-etched, fixed partial dentures. This innovative design divided the restoration into two parts, each with a separate path of insertion. The preparation of abutment teeth required minimal reduction and the pontic could not be displaced during function.

Resin-bonded fixed partial dentures. I. Proposed standardized criteria for evaluation

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1996
Since etched cast resin-bonded prostheses were introduced in 1980, many articles have been written about them. Most state that the reported clinical success of these bonded restorations has been based primarily on the longevity of the bonding. For a comprehensive evaluation, however, it is important not only to examine the bonding but also to evaluate ...

Provisional treatment for resin-bonded fixed partial dentures.

Quintessence international (Berlin, Germany : 1985), 1995
The resin-bonded fixed partial denture is a conservative option for the replacement of a missing tooth. It has a good prognosis and offers several advantages over a conventional fixed partial denture. However, it does not allow for placement of a provisional fixed partial denture.

Anterior retainer design for resin-bonded acid-etched fixed partial dentures

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1989
Electrolytically etched castings of varying designs were cemented to prepared enamel. The load required to displace these castings was compared with the load required to displace anterior and posterior three-quarter crowns cemented with zinc phosphate cement.

Ten-year clinical evaluation of posterior fixed-movable resin-bonded fixed partial dentures

Journal of Dentistry, 2019
Two-unit cantilevered resin-bonded fixed partial dentures (RBFPDs) offer long-term retention for anterior and premolar-sized spans. At this center, molar and longer spans have been restored with fixed-movable (FM) RBFPDs to overcome the lower retention rates of fixed-fixed RBFPDs.
